The Imo State Police Command has intensified its offensive against kidnapping and violent crimes along the Owerri–Aba Expressway, following a major intelligence-driven operation conducted on Saturday, 6 December 2025.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Okoye Henry, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, led a high-powered delegation to Umuhu Autonomous Community in Ngor-Okpala LGA to inspect locations allegedly linked to a notorious kidnapping suspect, Stanley Morocco Oparaugo, who is currently at large.
The delegation included the Imo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Egu; Chief Pathologist of the Imo State Specialist Hospital, Dr. Ibeaja Okechukwu; the Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. Mrs. Chika Ibekwe; and members of the Ngor Okpala Vigilante Group led by Mr. Henry Ikpe.
During the operation, officers uncovered disturbing scenes at a private mortuary owned by the suspect. Authorities discovered decomposed and mutilated corpses kept in highly unhygienic conditions, raising strong suspicions of illegal organ harvesting and other criminal activities. A nearby hotel also owned by the suspect was similarly inspected and found to be allegedly used as a hideout by kidnappers and violent criminals.
Following these findings, both the mortuary and the hotel were immediately sealed by order of the State Government. A search of the suspect’s residence also resulted in the recovery of what police described as “crucial exhibits” essential to the ongoing investigation. Forensic experts have since secured and documented all recovered evidence.
CP Aboki Danjuma reassured the public that the Command is fully committed to dismantling criminal networks operating in the area. He stressed that all accomplices connected to the criminal ring would be tracked down and prosecuted.

Meanwhile, maximum security deployments have been stationed along the Owerri–Aba Expressway to ensure the safety of travelers, especially as the holiday season approaches. The Command reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
