The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Wednesday unveiled the official mascot, theme, and slogan for the 15th Nigeria Police Games scheduled to hold in Asaba, Delta State, in 2026. The ceremony, held with senior officers, stakeholders, and sporting officials in attendance, marked what the IGP described as “a proud moment” for the Nigeria Police Force.
In his address, Egbetokun noted that the Games remain a vital platform for strengthening discipline, fitness, and unity within the Force. He emphasised that the current police administration is determined to elevate sporting standards, stressing that building a stronger Police Force begins with investing in the wellness, mental readiness, and overall development of officers.
The IGP expressed gratitude to the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, for the state’s commitment to hosting the 2026 edition, acknowledging Delta’s long-standing reputation for sporting excellence. He also commended the Delta Sports Commission and the Force Sports Planning Committee, led by AIG Fom Pam Joseph, for their dedication to preparations.
Unveiling the identity for Asaba 2026, Egbetokun announced the theme, “Beyond the Badge; Excellence in Action!” and the slogan, “Discipline, Dignity and Dedication!” He stated that the mascot represents the core values of courage, unity, fitness, and excellence—qualities expected of every officer both on duty and on the field. He expressed confidence that the 2026 Police Games would set new records and further strengthen the legacy of the Nigeria Police Force.
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who joined the Inspector-General of Police and other dignitaries at the unveiling of the logo, mascot, set the stage for the 2026 edition of the Games, which Delta State will host. Governor Oborevwori described the event as a celebration of unity, discipline, and excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.
In his remarks, the Governor noted that the Biennial Police Games have evolved into an important platform for promoting camaraderie, sporting talent, fitness, and discipline among police officers.
He stated that the newly unveiled logo represents identity and pride, while the mascot embodies energy and courage. The theme, he added, reflects the friendship, brotherhood, and excellence that define both policing and sportsmanship.
Oborevwori commended the Inspector-General of Police and the organising committee for their dedication to ensuring a successful event. He assured that Delta State is fully prepared to host the Games and welcome participants and guests to an atmosphere of peace and hospitality. The Governor expressed hope that the 15th Biennial Police Games would inspire greatness and further strengthen unity within the Police Force and across the country.
