Operatives of the Homicide Section, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Delta State Police Command, have arrested two suspects linked to the murder of retired Justice Ifeoma Okogwu in Anambra State.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, the prime suspect, Godwin Mngumi, 25, who served as a security guard to the late Justice, was apprehended following credible intelligence. Police operatives also recovered the deceased’s mobile phone from him.
During interrogation, Mngumi confessed to inviting his friend, Nnaji Obalum, along with another accomplice currently at large, to the residence of the late Justice, where they allegedly carried out the gruesome attack.
SP Edafe Bright confirmed that Nnaji Obalum has been arrested, while a manhunt is ongoing for the third suspect involved in the crime.
The Delta State Police Command assured the public that all suspects connected to the murder will be brought to justice as investigations continue.
