VIDEO: Police Intensify Air Surveillance During Anambra Governorship Election Today

The Nigeria Police Force has stepped up air surveillance operations across Anambra State as part of heightened security arrangements for the November 8 governorship election.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the Command said the aerial patrols form part of a comprehensive operational strategy aimed at ensuring a peaceful, safe, and transparent electoral process across the state.

According to the statement, the air surveillance operations are being carried out in close coordination with ground troops, marine operatives, and tactical units strategically deployed in key locations. The aerial teams are tasked with monitoring movement patterns, detecting suspicious gatherings, and relaying real-time intelligence to ground commanders for prompt operational response.

The Police assured the public of its neutrality and professionalism, emphasizing that its role remains to protect all citizens, electoral officials, observers, and election materials throughout the exercise.

Residents were urged to remain law-abiding and to cooperate fully with security personnel performing their legitimate duties.

The statement further reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to safeguarding the sanctity of the ballot, upholding the rule of law, and ensuring that every eligible voter can exercise their civic rights freely and without fear or intimidation.
