The Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, made the announcement at the INEC headquarters in Awka on Sunday.

According to the official results, Governor Soludo polled a total of 422,664 votes to secure a decisive victory over his closest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 99,445 votes.

Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes, while George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) scored 10,576 votes. The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), John Nwosu, backed by a coalitiobɓn of smaller parties, polled 8,208 votes.

With this victory, Governor Soludo has secured a second term in office, reaffirming the dominance of APGA in Anambra State politics.

INEC commended voters, security agencies, and election observers for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the poll, which it described as largely free and fair.
