Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim Takes Over as GMD of Navy Holdings Limited

Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim has officially assumed duty as the 12th Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Navy Holdings Limited (NHL), following a formal handing and taking over ceremony held on Friday, November 7, 2025.

The ceremony, which took place at the company’s headquarters, marked a smooth transition of leadership from the outgoing GMD/CEO, Rear Admiral Zakariya Shaku Muhammad, to Rear Admiral Ibrahim.

According to the Group Public Relations and Information Officer of Navy Holdings Limited, Commander Abdulsalam Sani, the event signified another milestone in the organisation’s history and reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and continuity in leadership.

In his valedictory address, Rear Admiral Muhammad expressed appreciation to the Board of Directors, management, and staff for their cooperation and dedication during his tenure. 

He noted that the company recorded notable achievements, including improved operational efficiency, expansion of investment portfolios, and the strengthening of corporate governance structures. He urged his successor to sustain the progress and continue driving growth within the organisation.

In his maiden remarks, Rear Admiral Ibrahim thanked the Chief of Naval Staff for the confidence reposed in him, commending his predecessor for laying a solid foundation. He pledged to build on existing successes while exploring new avenues for innovation and business development.

The event was attended by Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers of NHL subsidiaries, senior naval officers, and other distinguished guests.

Navy Holdings Limited serves as the Nigerian Navy’s investment arm, promoting commercial ventures and strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing the service’s economic and operational sustainability.
