In a rare and symbolic encounter, former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Rtd), met with prominent social critic and youth advocate, Very Dark Man (VDM), aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight transiting through Addis Ababa.
What initially appeared to be a casual meeting between two passengers quickly evolved into a moment of reflection on Nigeria’s evolving socio-political landscape. General Buratai described the encounter as “historic,” commending VDM not only for his commanding presence but for the ideals he represents.
“He is not only a Very Dark Man, but indeed a Very Strong Personality (VSP),” General Buratai remarked, stressing that VDM reflects the physical, emotional, social, and progressive aspirations of Nigerian youths today and for the future.
The retired General further underscored the importance of youth inclusion in nation-building, affirming that their voices are indispensable in shaping Nigeria’s growth and stability.
“The Nigerian youths must be heard and carried along,” he concluded.
The meeting as more than coincidental, seeing it as a symbolic bridge between Nigeria’s established leadership and the vibrant voices of its younger generation.
