In another major success against terrorism, troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have neutralized 10 additional insurgents and recovered a cache of weapons and equipment during a precision night ambush along the Gamboru–Dikwa–Marte axis of Borno State.
This latest feat comes shortly after the neutralization of over 50 terrorists in a previous encounter at the Katarko axis, reinforcing the sustained momentum of counter-insurgency operations in the North East.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, the operation was executed by troops of Sector 1 from the 24 Task Force Brigade who foiled a terrorist infiltration attempt into Gamboru Ngala from the Flatari axis. After suffering heavy losses, the fleeing insurgents diverted towards Dikwa but were intercepted and ambushed by the troops around 23:50 hours on 25 October 2025.
The ambush, characterized by accurate suppressive fire, forced the terrorists to retreat in disarray. At first light, clearance operations confirmed that 10 terrorists had been neutralized. The troops also recovered 5 AK-47 rifles, one PKT machine gun, three locally made guns, two fabricated pistols, five AK-47 magazines, linked ammunition, motorcycles, bicycles, a radio set, and other personal items including charms and protective gear.
The Military High Command has commended the troops for their gallantry, vigilance, and tactical proficiency. It reiterated that the success of the operation demonstrates the effectiveness of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts and reaffirms OPHK’s commitment to sustaining offensive actions, protecting civilians, and restoring lasting peace and stability across the North East region.
