In a sustained effort to curb crude oil theft and illegal refining activities, the Nigerian Navy has conducted a successful operation under Operation DELTA SANITY.
On Friday, 10 October 2025, personnel of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) DELTA executed a targeted mission at Obodo-Omadino Creek in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State. Acting on credible intelligence, the naval team uncovered and dismantled dugout pits and a wooden boat laden with a significant quantity of products suspected to be stolen crude oil.
According to the Navy, the operation took place at coordinates Latitude 5.558343°N and Longitude 5.616735°E, and forms part of ongoing efforts to protect national economic assets from sabotage and environmental pollution.
The Navy reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying patrols and surveillance within the Niger Delta region to ensure the sustainability of Nigeria’s maritime security architecture and to deter economic saboteurs.
Operation DELTA SANITY continues to record notable successes as part of the Nigerian Navy’s broader drive to ensure maritime safety, protect oil infrastructure, and support the Federal Government’s fight against crude oil theft.
