Just In: Nigerian Navy Appoints Commodore Odejobi as New Spokesperson (Director of Naval Information)

The Nigerian Navy (NN) has named Commodore A. O. Odejobi as its new Director of Naval Information (DINFO), succeeding Commodore Aiwiyor Adams-Aliu, who has been redeployed.

Commodore Odejobi, a veteran naval aviator with an impressive record in both aviation and maritime operations, takes over from Commodore Adams-Aliu, who has been appointed Commanding Officer of Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Lugard in Lokoja, Kogi State. According to an internal signal obtained by The Nation, Commodore Adams-Aliu is expected to assume his new duties on or before November 1, 2025.

Known for his professionalism and strategic insight, Commodore Odejobi brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His appointment is expected to further strengthen the Navy’s public relations machinery, enhance engagement with the media, and deepen transparency in communicating the service’s activities and achievements.

As DINFO, he will oversee the Navy’s communication strategy, manage official information dissemination, and maintain robust relationships with defense correspondents and maritime journalists nationwide.
