The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Oluwafemi Oluyede, has extended heartfelt condolences to the family of Major General Dangana Gyobe Allu following the passing of their patriarch, Architect James Gyobe Allu, after a life devoted to God, humanity, and nation-building.
Represented by the Commander 4 Special Forces Command, Major General Hillary Nzan, the COAS conveyed the Nigerian Army’s sympathy during the funeral service held at ECWA Goodnews Church, Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
Describing the late Architect Allu as a man of discipline, humility, and godliness, General Oluyede noted that his sterling virtues are evident in his son, Major General Allu, the Deputy Chief of Policy and Plans (Staff Duties) at Army Headquarters. He urged the family to take solace in the exemplary legacy their father left behind.
Also paying tribute, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Colonel Agbu Kefas (Rtd), lauded the deceased’s mentorship, patriotism, and selfless contributions to national development, describing him as “a detribalized Nigerian and father to many.”
During the service, speakers eulogised Architect Allu’s humility, love for education, and commitment to community development, recalling that he lived a life anchored on truth, integrity, and faith.
In his sermon titled “Don’t Miss Heaven” (Revelation 14:13), Reverend Silas Yako urged the congregation to emulate the late architect’s righteous life, reminding all that only those who live in the fear of God will find eternal rest.
Born in 1942 in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, Architect Allu graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1971, and had a distinguished career as Chief Architect with the Benue-Plateau State Ministry of Works and later as pioneer Director of Development at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), where he played a pivotal role in Abuja’s early planning.
He passed away at 82, leaving behind his wife, children, grandchildren, and a lasting legacy of service and integrity.
