Amb. Jonathan Ojadah to Be Honoured as Hero in Peacebuilding at Kenya’s Mashujaa Day

In a moment of pride for Nigeria and the African continent, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Jonathan Ojadah, Global President of the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC) and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has been nominated to receive the distinguished honor of Hero in Peacebuilding at Kenya’s 2025 Mashujaa Day Celebration.

Mashujaa Day—meaning Heroes’ Day—is one of Kenya’s most significant national holidays, observed annually on October 20th to celebrate individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the nation and humanity. This year, the event will recognize Dr. Ojadah for his outstanding leadership and impactful contributions to global peace, good governance, and sustainable development—values that resonate deeply with the ideals of Mashujaa Day.

Dr. Ojadah’s recognition is a testament to his long-standing commitment to promoting unity, dialogue, and stability across nations. Through his visionary leadership at UNIPGC, he has championed initiatives that strengthen governance systems, foster collaboration among global stakeholders, and advance the cause of peace and justice.

As part of the national observance, Dr. Ojadah will arrive in Nairobi on October 17th, 2025, ahead of the official ceremony scheduled to take place on October 18th, 2025, in Kitui County. The celebration will be attended by the President of Kenya, alongside senior government officials, diplomats, and international peace advocates.

The honor follows a formal invitation from the National Heroes Council of Kenya, chaired by Hon. Angwenyi Jimmy Nuru Ondieki, MGW, who commended Dr. Ojadah’s exemplary service and unwavering dedication to peacebuilding efforts across the continent. The Council has also made provisions for his full participation and accommodation during the event.

In his congratulatory message, Dr. Charles O. Wambia, OGW, CoP CEO/Director, described Ambassador Ojadah as “a true embodiment of purposeful leadership—one who inspires hope and lives out peace as a principle and practice.”

For Ambassador Ojadah, the recognition represents not only a personal milestone but also a reaffirmation that peace remains the highest expression of leadership. His work continues to inspire a new generation of Africans devoted to building nations grounded in justice, compassion, and collective progress.

As Africa charts its path toward greater unity and development, the recognition of Ambassador Jonathan Ojadah at the 2025 Mashujaa Day Celebration stands as a reminder of the power of visionary leadership and the enduring impact of service to humanity.
