The ongoing Exercise HASKE BIYU 2025 took a significant turn yesterday as participants witnessed a series of highly coordinated multi-agency response drills at Camp Kabala, Kaduna State, aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s internal security framework and emphasizing the vital role of families in national security.
The event featured realistic simulations, including responses to Internal Security and Low-Intensity Conflict (IS/LIC) scenarios, followed by cordon and search operations as well as roadblock demonstrations.
The exercises brought together multiple security agencies working side by side to address simulated threats through intelligence sharing, perimeter control, systematic searches, and checkpoint management.
Speaking on the theme of this year’s exercise, “The Role of Family in National Security,” organizers highlighted the importance of collaboration beyond the security sector.
They stressed that while military and law enforcement agencies are on the frontline, families and communities remain the first line of defense through vigilance, early reporting of suspicious activities, and fostering a culture of national responsibility.
The demonstrations showcased how collective efforts from security institutions, government agencies, and citizens can create a unified response to emerging threats. Participants observed how real-time coordination among agencies enhances operational effectiveness and strengthens public confidence in national security systems.
Exercise HASKE BIYU 2025 will continue with a series of programs and activities, all aligned with its central theme of mobilizing families and communities as critical stakeholders in safeguarding Nigeria’s peace and stability.
