The Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned a 55-year-old man, Shamusideen Oladiti, before an Ebute-Metta Magistrate Court for allegedly causing the deaths of two men in Lagos Island.
Oladiti, who had been in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, was brought to court under tight security.
He was accused of fatally assaulting one Imam Ramon on August 27, 2025, at Lewis Street, Lagos Island. Ramon was rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital, where he later died.
In another incident on September 17, Oladiti and others still at large allegedly attacked a dispatch rider, Omale Samuel, who also died from the injuries sustained.
Police prosecutor, SP Anthony Iyeye Esq., told the court that the offences contravened the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015 on assault, conspiracy, and culpable homicide.
Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Akinde, ordered Oladiti’s remand pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and adjourned the case to October 28, 2025.
