The Nigerian Army Intelligence School (NAIS), Tego Barracks, Apapa, has graduated participants of its Second Quarter Courses for 2025, with a charge to support ongoing military operations with accurate and actionable intelligence.
The graduation ceremony, held on Friday at the Bala Mande Hall of the school, featured seven courses: Counter Intelligence Officers’ Course 35, Young Officers’ Course 50, Counter Intelligence SNCOs Course 28, Document Security Course 65, Advanced Intelligence Operatives Course 93, Intermediate Intelligence Operatives Course 114, and Basic Intelligence Operatives Course 114.
Speaking as Special Guest of Honour, Commander 9 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Olawale Matthew Oyekola, congratulated the graduands and emphasised the Army’s commitment to training as a form of welfare for personnel.
“In line with superior authority’s objectives, training remains the best welfare for soldiers. I have no doubt that the knowledge and skills acquired here will enable you to provide critical support to your units and formations as we confront the hydra-headed security challenges facing our nation,” he said.
General Oyekola praised the school’s evolving curriculum under its Commandant, Brigadier General Kingsley Nwoko, noting the review of Exercises Desert Chase and Spider Web to reflect realism and address contemporary security threats.
He charged the graduands to go beyond classroom success and apply their training to real-life operations.
“What makes you a professional intelligence operative is your ability to practically apply classroom teachings to real situations. Your commanders will increasingly depend on your inputs to succeed in the field,” he added.
The event also featured the presentation of awards to outstanding students, souvenirs to dignitaries, and a group photograph session.
On behalf of the students, appreciation was extended to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General OO Oluyede, for approving and funding the courses, and to the Chief of Military Intelligence (Army), Major General TB Ugiagbe, for his guidance.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, staff, and families of the graduands.
