The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the elimination of more than 35 terrorists in a precision air interdiction near the Nigeria–Cameroon border.
According to a statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the operation was conducted in the early hours of Saturday, August 23, 2025, under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK). The strike followed an attempted attack on ground troops at Kumshe.
Intelligence reports from multiple sources revealed that terrorists had converged in four assembly areas close to the border. Acting swiftly, the Air Component of OPHK executed precision strikes in successive passes, neutralising the fighters and disrupting their plans.
“Following the operation, communication was re-established with ground troops, who confirmed that the situation around their location had been stabilised,” Ejodame said.
The operation underscores the NAF’s commitment to dominating the battlespace, denying terrorists freedom of movement, and providing close air support to ground forces in the North East.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, commended the professionalism of the aircrew and assured that the NAF will continue to sustain aggressive and intelligence-driven operations aimed at completely degrading terrorist networks threatening Nigeria’s sovereignty.
