The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, has formally bid farewell to Cadet JT Adekunle as he embarks on further military training at the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, United Kingdom.
At a brief but solemn ceremony held at the NDA Headquarters, Principal Staff Officers joined the Commandant, Major General AK Ibrahim, OFR, to celebrate the cadet’s outstanding achievements.
In his remarks, Major General Ibrahim praised Adekunle’s discipline, resilience, and academic excellence, stressing that his nomination was strictly merit-based.
“This opportunity is not a product of favoritism or connections but of rigorous assessment and performance,” the Commandant said. “The Armed Forces of Nigeria must continue to reward exceptional talent and commitment.”
Cadet Adekunle, who was visibly emotional, expressed gratitude to the Academy for its support and mentorship. He pledged to uphold the values of the NDA and to return better equipped to serve his country.
The ceremony ended with blessings and words of encouragement from senior officers and colleagues, who expressed confidence in his ability to excel and return as a future leader of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
