A major traffic lockdown has crippled movement along the Gwagwalada–Giri–Zuba Expressway following a confrontation between a soldier and a truck driver.
Eyewitnesses said the incident began when the soldier allegedly assaulted the driver. In protest, the enraged driver steered his truck across the highway, completely blocking the busy route before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing.
The obstruction has left thousands of commuters stranded, with traffic stretching for several kilometers in both directions. Motorists traveling in and out of Abuja were caught in the standstill, as there are no viable alternative routes around the scene.
As of press time, the truck remained unmoved, and no official intervention had been reported, further compounding the frustration of road users.
