Armed bandits have abducted a naval officer and members of his family in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, August 20, 2025, when gunmen invaded Unguwan Mission in Kachia and whisked away Seaman Olatunji Enoch, 40, of the Nigerian Navy, attached to NNSAT Kachia.
The assailants also abducted his wife, Margaret Olatunji, 25, and their 13-year-old daughter, Hellen Bitrus, during the attack.
Security agencies have since launched a manhunt for the perpetrators, with cordon-and-search operations currently ongoing in the surrounding bushes. Authorities said the operation is focused on ensuring the safe rescue of the victims without harm.
Confirming the incident, a naval source described the abduction as “unfortunate,” but assured that security forces were already on the trail of the kidnappers.
