As part of efforts towards enhancing educational infrastructure, the Force Commander Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Major General Godwin Mutkut, has commissioned the newly constructed and fully furnished St. Joseph Nursery School in Mora, Cameroon.
This initiative is part of the MNJTF's Civil-Military Cooperation project aimed at improving the quality of education in the region.
The newly commissioned school comprises two classrooms and a staff room, providing a conducive learning environment for young learners.
During the commissioning ceremony, Major General Mutkut underscored the pivotal role of education in societal development. He emphasized that education is not merely a priority but a fundamental necessity due to its immense benefits to humanity.
"We must encourage our children to learn, not just through words, but through actions that make a bold statement against those who condemn education," he stated. He further asserted that progress is unattainable without education, reinforcing the significance of this project.
Major General Mutkut also highlighted the MNJTF's recent efforts in executing various quick-impact projects across communities in the Lake Chad region.
These projects aim to provide much-needed relief in areas devastated by terrorist activities and to strengthen the bond between the MNJTF and the local populace. He urged the community to take ownership of the school facility and ensure its proper maintenance.
The Director of the New School Ms Justine Suke, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the MNJTF for the inauguration of the beautiful building. She also extended her thanks to the African Union for funding the project. "This school will continue to lay a solid foundation for the communities in Mora and beyond," she remarked.
The commissioning ceremony, led by Major General Mutkut, was attended by distinguished guests, including the representative of the Mayor of Mora Council, Commander Sector 1, key military staff officers from MNJTF and Sector 1, AU Mission Support Team staff, and members of the Mora community.
