Military Aware of Terrorist Plans, Takes Proactive Measures to Secure Critical Infrastructure - DHQ

The Nigerian Military says, its aware of some of the plans of terrorists targeting some critical infrastructure in the country. 

Major General Edward Buba, the Director Defence Media Operations disclosed this while briefing Journalists on the ongoing military operations in six geopolitical zones of the country at Defence Headquarters in Abuja

According to General Buba the military has emplaced measures to forestall such plans. He noted that security agencies responsible for securing critical infrastructure and facilities have also been placed on alert. Accordingly, some of such plans have been frustrated. 

Giving a breakdown of troops activities within one week General Buba pointed out that, troops neutralised 187 and arrested 183 persons.

22 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists fighters and members comprising 8 adult males, 5 adult females and 9 children surrendered to troops in Madagali LGA of Adamawa State.  Troops also arrested 26 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 109 kidnapped hostages. 

General Buba therefore reassured that the military is doing what is needed at this time. "We force the terrorist to pay a price for every act of aggression against citizens of this country. We recognise and have included this as part of our strategy to win the war. Accordingly, we would defeat the terrorists on the battlefield and help our nation flourish again."
