Celebrating birthdays at the IDP camps with women and children can be a meaningful and compassionate way to mark a special day as the President Defence and Police Officers Wives Association, Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa today, 22 July 2024 brings joy and happiness to children who may not have the same opportunities as others.
Mrs Musa who marked her birthday at the IDP camp Durumi, Abuja distributed delivery pack to pregnant women at the camp to ensure a safe and clean delivery of their young ones.
SpyeTV News reports that Mrs. Musa's compassionate and philanthropic efforts, highlighted her selfless act of celebrating her birthday by bringing joy and essential items to those in need, particularly displaced persons and children in Abuja.
On this day the IDPs at the Camp at Durumi, FCT also enjoyed Medical outreach, consultation and treatment of common ailments, which include checking of blood pressure, glucometer test for blood sugar, Antenatal services and Administration of haematinics to pregnant women and deworming of adults and children, dispensing of drugs to the sick and donation pf other medications to the camp clinic such as antibiotics and malarials medications ,IV fluids, Gloves and so many items.
Mrs Musa who is honoured and grateful to God Almighty for his mercies and protection over her life, cannot ignore the plight of Displaced Persons with regards to their nutritional needs, donated 90 bags of rice, 10 bags of Garri, 10 bags of Guinea corn, 10 bags of Corn. 10 bags of oranges, 10 bags of gardening eggs and 300 mosquito nets.
"I am honored to celebrate my birthday among such a resilient and inspiring group of people. We gather here not only to mark my special day but also to demonstrate our commitment to serving and supporting those in need.
"Another year has passed, and am thankful to God Almighty for all the wonderful experiences and lessons learned. I have my shared of ups and downs but with the amazing people in my life , every challenge seems easier , I am truly grateful for all the support", she said.
The DEPOWA President Mrs Musa assured all the Internally Displaced Persons present that she see through their struggles, "we hear your stories and we are dedicated to helping you in any little way we can."
She seized the opportunity to thank the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Founder Renewed Hope Initiative, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON for her motherly inspiration and continuous guidance.
She also appreciate and thank the Chief of Defence Staff, "my loving husband, my king, my crown, General Christopher Gwabin Musa OFR who has always been my pillar of strength and the driving force in challenging moments and successes".
"This appreciation will not be complete without thanking the Ministry of Defence Health Implementation Program, Defence Medical Centre, Army Command and NAOWA Hospital and our partners; Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria and MC SPLENZ and his team.
"Thank you all for the support and your presence here to be deeply involved in this outreach. Also, I wish to thank the DEPOWA Coordinators, DEPOWA Executives, members and the secretariat staff for all the support and wishes on this my special day, I appreciate you all.

There have been efforts carried out by humanitarian organizations to keep women and children safer in IDP camps exists, and various humanitarian organizations that provide aid to women and children in the IDP camps in FCT often emphasize on lifesaving assistance, enhanced access, and protection services to women and children as well as resilience and durable solutions to vulnerable citizens during conflicts.
Dignitaries at the event are the executive of the DEPOWA, Wife of the Defence Intelligence Agency, woman leader of the IDP Camps in FCT, members of the DEPOWA, families and friends of the DEPOWA President.
