"Military Will Continue to Sustain its Offensive Operations Until Total Peace Returns To North East" – General Chibuisi

The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Maj Gen Gold Chibuisi has reiterated that the military will continue to sustain its offensive operations in the NE until peace and tranquillity return to the general area. 

He gave the assurance when the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA) led by its Director General, Dr Mohammed Barkindo Saidu, paid him a courtesy visit at the Headquarters Theatre Command, Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri today 10 November 2023.

Gen Chibuisi assured the BSEMA that the military will continue assiduously to employ both kinetic and non-kinetic operations in the North East to ensure the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists are rid out of the area. 

He described the agency as a key stakeholder in driving humanitarian activities and assured that the Theatre Command was ever ready to support them in carrying out their activities.

 The Theatre Commander noted that both the agency and the military share the same goal hence the need to work together to achieve the desired peace. 

Remarking earlier, the Director General BSEMA, Dr Mohammed Barkindo Saidu, said the visit aimed to formally solicit security support to enable the agency to conduct a seamless distribution of palliative to the Internally Displaced Persons without hindrance and thanked the Theatre  Commander for the efforts towards ensuring normalcy returns in the NE. 

He briefed the Theatre Commander on the activities of the agency and solicited more collaboration for effective performance. 

Highlights of the visit were the signing of the visitor's book, exchange of souvenirs and group photographs.

In attendance were the General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army / Commander Sector 1 JTF OPHK Maj Gen PP Malla, Secretary to BSEMA Mr Mohammed Sheriff, Principal Staff Officers of Theatre Command and officials of the BSEMA.
