“Those Shouting on Channels or Arise TV are Expired Politicians and Desperate" -NSA, Ribadu Defends Tinubu’s Reforms

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has lashed out at persistent critics of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing them as “expired and desperate politicians” seeking relevance through media propaganda.

Ribadu made the remarks during the 2025 National Cyber Security Conference in Abuja on Wednesday. Addressing both Nigerian and international stakeholders, he declared that Nigeria is experiencing increased safety and economic stability under Tinubu’s leadership, dismissing negative narratives by opposition figures.

“Mr. President is a digital President—very educated, very enlightened. People underestimate him at their own peril,” Ribadu stated.

He added that efforts by the administration are yielding real results, with national security improving across volatile regions including the Niger Delta and the South-East. Ribadu assured the public that the government is addressing subversive activities, particularly by elements operating from abroad.

“Those shouting on Channels or Arise TV are expired politicians who believe they have a birthright to power. They are talking nonsense,” he said, drawing applause from the audience.

The NSA attributed the growing confidence in the administration to sweeping reforms, strong telecom partnerships, and visible economic improvements. He urged media platforms not to give undue attention to critics he believes were part of Nigeria’s previous challenges.
