COAS Pledges Continue Partnership with NDC For Peace and Development In Nigeria



The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Taoreed Lagbaja has lauded the long-standing partnership between both organizations and pledged that the Army will continue to support the National Defence College Nigeria (NDC) in its strategic areas of concern for the peace and development of the country.

Major General Lagbaja made this pledge today, 26th July, 2023 when when Commandant of the National Defence College Nigeria (NDC), Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu led a delegation of the college on a visit to the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

The COAS noted that the NDC has over the years impacted positively on the NA personnel through its numerous research and development, educational programmes, training packages and exercises.

He said the College has continued to demonstrate its capacity as a strong and reliable citadel of research and learning, enabling the NA to carry out several interventions across the country and also improving the operational proficiency of its personnel.

According to him, the innovation and reforms carried out by the College through its training packages and exercises have produced several high-breed and well-trained leaders within the Armed Forces and other security agencies, Ministries, Departments and Agencies as well as foreign allied countries across the globe.

He acknowledged the efforts of the College over the years, nothing that it has produced well-trained NA senior officers who have demonstrated capacity in leadership skills, operational proficiency and administrative prowess in their assigned duties both within and outside the country.

General Lagbaja assured that the Nigerian Army (NA) will continue to partner with the National Defence College Nigeria (NDC) for the stability, peace and development in the country.

In his word, the Commandant of the NDC, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu lauded the contributions and support of the Nigerian Army to the National Defence College Nigeria (NDC), especially the provision of security to the College’s strategic facilities and solicited more support and interventions to the College to enable it achieve its established objectives.

The Commandant who also congratulated Major General Lagbaja on well-deserved appointment as the COAS, expressing optimism that the Army Chief will take the Army to enviable heights due to his military expertise and worth of experience.
