Troops of Operation Hadin Kai are currently undergoing a three day Training on Modern Water Purification System to enhance personal and field hygiene especially for frontline troops in remote locations.
This is part of the measures put in place by the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Christopher Musa to expose participants on the use of Otterpack Water Purification Machine, a portable hybrid water purification system that works based on Reverse Osmosis Mechanism to purify water to its best quality.
The 3 Day training which commenced on Monday, 27 June, 2022 is currently taking place at the Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri.
The Director, Alto Sieg Nig Ltd, Mr Babatunde Ogunlade, a major distributor of the product in West Africa, disclosed that the unique ergonomic hands-free backpack machine is capable of removing harmful substances from water and protecting it against chemical and biological contamination such as bacterias, viruses, endocrine disruptors and algal toxins thereby making it healthy and safe for consumption.
Spye News reports that during the last exhibition of the Machine by Alto Sieg Nig Ltd on Friday, 29 October 2021, the Theatre Command with the support of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya, procured a good number of this machine for troops in remote locations that lack access to quality water.
