Lagos Pastor In Alleged Adultery Scandal As Church Members Want Him OutLagos Pastor In Alleged Adultery Scandal As Church Members Want Him Out

Following the reinstatement of Rev Abayomi Okesanya of the Ereko circuit, Diocese of Lagos, Methodist Church of Nigeria, the church members are divided as they have decided to resist Okesanya who was initially sent away on suspension for alleged adultery. The church at the centre of this matter is located at No 18 Ereko Street, Idumota, Lagos, and it has Rev. Moses Adebayo Siyanbola as presbyter and minister in-charge of the circuit. Okesanya’s wife Yemisi had accused him of impregnating another woman, and he is reportedly living with another woman who is not his legally married wife.
Going by reports, Okesanya and his wife have been married for years but there was no child from the union. This is said to have made the pastor keep a mistress who now has kids for him. Okesanya is said to have had 2 children abroad before his legal marriage and his new kids. By the time Yemisi got to know about this in 2008, she left him and it was at this point the matter blew open. While there are claims that Rev Okesanya is making moves to divorce his estranged wife, the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr Samuel Emeka Kanu Uche is currently investigating the matter and the committee-in-charge is to submit its report in November 2014.
