MTN launches Hit-Maker season three in Ghana

The 13-weeks show is a platform used to identify, groom and support young aspiring artistes to record their own music and turning them into stars.
Mr Richard Acheampong, General Manager, Marketing Service, MTN said the company has decided to re-define its contribution to the creative arts and the entertainment industry by investing in talents development.
He said the first two editions have discovered talents that are making significant strides in the Ghanaian music industry.

He said the season three is again a platform to get unique talents, who are ready to showcase their creativity for national development.
Mr Acheampong said Hit-maker season three would take a slight different approach compared to the first two, adding that the collection of demos from potential Hit-maker contestants would now be collected throughout three channels.
The contestants are to drop their demos at MTN branch offices or partner radio stations across the country and upload demo on MTNplay Portal.
He said MTN remains committed to using the power of technology to develop innovation products and services to enrich the lives of their customers.
He said the company had introduced the MTNplay platform, which gives the opportunity to musicians, application developers and other content providers to upload their songs, videos and earn income for themselves.
“We encourage especially musicians and members of the creative arts industry to take advantage of the opportunities that the digital marketing presents,” he added.
He said the winner of the show would receive ultimate prize of a recording deal worth GH₵ 100,000, while the first runner up will take home GH₵ 50,000.
Mrs Amy Frimpong Appiah, Deputy Director of the National Theatre commended MTN for its efforts to develop talents in the music industry.
The views of the show will see new co-host of the event, in the person of Peace Hyde with another new judge been introduced as Hammer of the last two fame.
Season one saw Naterial winning, while Koo Ntakara also won in the season two of the event.
Koo Ntakara used the opportunity to launch two single albums. GNA
