Sources close to the Committee revealed that that, the business woman who had earlier petitioned the NJC over the professional misconduct of the serving judge was not impressed with the response of the Council which advised her to seek legal redress against Senchi and swept under the carpet issues of abuse of office as a judicial officer.
Although the anti corruption crusade of Hajiya Abubakar fell on deaf ears of the leadership of the Judiciary, she was undaunted as she petitioned the house of representatives of the National Assembly on the issue.
Justice Senchi is believed to be a sacred cow in the nation's Judiciary as he had been queried twice on corruption related cases. In one of those queries, the Abuja judge was alleged to be involved in over inflating of cars meant for judicial officers in the FCT. He allegedly escaped being sanctioned because the former Chief Judge of the FCT, Justice Gumi was said to be neck-deep in the stinking scam. Justice Gumi who was to be sanctioned by the NJC over some fraud related issues hurriedly retired from the bench to become an Emir. He is currently a member of the on going jinxed and discredited National Conference.
Senchi , who practically relocated to the Supreme Court Complex, where he once served as Chief Registrar, ensured that he manipulated the system to stave any sanction. He was allegedly told to ensure that the land scandal did not receive media attention.
To ensure conformity to this directive, it was gathered that Justice Senchi and his godfather in corruption, retired Justice Gumi, pressurized the management of Leadership an Abuja based newspaper from publishing stories on the embarrassing scam after its reporter, David Aduge filed the first story on the land deal and also Daily trust Adebanwe Bamigoye whose number reads as 0803353837 a reporter who went recording Hajia Abubakar at her living room to give to NJC and Senchi. Sanchi who was said to have granted Aduge audience pleaded with him not to do the story. Aduge's boss was said to have called him to drop the story because Sam Nda Isaiah,the Publisher and one of the presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC, received calls from friends of both Senchi and Gumi pleading for soft landing.
The Leadership Publisher who had been in the fore front of cleaning the country of corruption was said to have caved in when his handsets were bombarded with calls.
But Hajiya Abubakar was undeterred. She was said to have fired a strongly worded petition to the National Assembly .
Her boldness and doggedness, it was gathered that, it is what guided the Honourable member to take upon himself to argue her petition.
