You can say that Chantal Hammontree just had a very good hair day. That's because her weave protected her from getting shot in the back of the head!

Chantal was getting a ride to her home in East Chatham, Chicago, from her girlfriend, and as she was about to get out of the car, someone shot at her through the back window!
The bullet hit Chantal, but bounced off because of her weave, protecting her from any severe damage. The 18-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital, but stayed conscience the entire time.
While the cops aren't necessarily sure whether the bullet was stopped by the weave or if Chantal was simply lucky, Chantal's family is convinced. Watch what her uncle, Randy Berry, had to say about the shooting!
