Hugh Jackman almost dealt himself a serious injury while shooting as Wolverine in "X-Men."
According to the Sun, the 45-year-old star revealed on a segment of "The Graham Norton Show" that he had come close to castrating himself with the Wolverine claws.
Jackman was shooting a nude scene when he had his brush with mutilation, he revealed in the segment, to be aired on Friday.
"There was a very intense first scene and I insisted on a closed set," Jackman said. "I ran around the corner and all the female members of the crew were gathered there."
"I tried to cover myself and cut my inner thigh," Jackman continued. "It was just the inner thigh, thankfully. The metal claws had to go-you can't have bits and pieces flying off."
Co-star Michael Fassbender, who appeared on "Graham Norton" with Jackman, paid tribute to his co-star's fitness regimen.
"His discipline is incredible," Fassbener said. "When we arrived there was a 'Jackman' effect and we all started training to try to keep up."
Jackman appears as Wolverine in the upcoming film "X-Men: Days of Future Past," which debuts July 14.
