The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully reunited six-year-old Haneem Hussaini Bello with his grandmother, a day after the child was found wandering around NNPC Towers in Abuja’s Central Business District.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
According to Adeh, Haneem was found around NNPC Towers on Friday, September 4, after becoming separated from his family.
She said following the Command’s appeal for public assistance, the child’s grandmother, who had been with him before he got separated from his family, was identified and contacted.
“After due verification, Haneem was safely reunited with her,” the statement said.
The Command expressed appreciation to members of the public for their support, cooperation and timely information, noting that the collective efforts of the Police and the public contributed to the successful identification of the child’s family and his safe reunification with his loved one.
The Police further encouraged members of the public to continue supporting law enforcement authorities by providing timely information that could assist in safeguarding vulnerable persons and reuniting them with their families.
