Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a suspected terrorist informant during an intelligence-led operation in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Security sources disclosed that the suspect, identified as Alhaji Sule Bako, was apprehended at about 11:40 a.m. on August 5, 2026, at Dzangola Kilba following credible intelligence linking him to alleged information-sharing activities for terrorist elements operating in the area.
According to the sources, troops of the 232 Battalion (Tactical) carried out the operation under Operation Desert Sanity V, a component of the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks in the North-East.
The operation was conducted without incident, and the suspect was taken into military custody for preliminary interrogation and further investigation to determine the extent of his alleged involvement with terrorist groups.
Military sources said the arrest is part of sustained intelligence-driven operations by Operation Hadin Kai targeting terrorist support structures, including informants, logistics suppliers and collaborators, across the North-East theatre.
The sources added that the military has continued to intensify offensive and intelligence operations to disrupt insurgent activities and deny terrorist groups access to local support networks, as part of ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace and security in the region.
No official statement has yet been issued by Operation Hadin Kai regarding the arrest.
