The Corps’ National Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commandant of Corps Babawale Afolabi, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, saying the actions reflect the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi’s commitment to institutional transparency, discipline, and zero tolerance for misconduct.
According to the statement, disciplinary investigations conducted in line with the Public Service Rules and the NSCDC Conditions of Service led to the conclusion of cases involving 75 personnel. Those sanctioned include one Assistant Commandant General (ACG), two Deputy Commandants (DCs), 35 other senior officers and 37 junior officers.
The offences ranged from job racketeering, financial misconduct, theft, and absence without official leave to acts considered prejudicial to state security. Sanctions imposed include dismissal, compulsory retirement and recommendations for criminal prosecution.
Among the cases concluded was the February 18, 2026 operational incident at Rafin Gabas in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, which resulted in the death of Mining Marshals Location Commander, Levi Agada.
Investigations revealed that two personnel, Hosea Habila and Jibrin Labaran, engaged suspected illegal miners with firearms without authorization. Both officers have been dismissed from the Corps and recommended for criminal prosecution.
The NSCDC also disclosed that four officers are currently facing disciplinary proceedings over alleged involvement in illegal arms dealing. They include Superintendent Tesie Victor Nnamdi of the Enugu State Command, Assistant Superintendent II Okwuruinya Uchenna and Assistant Superintendent II Obaji Sampson of the Ebonyi State Command, as well as Superintendent Achor Favour of the Nasarawa State Command, who is under administrative investigation over allegations of negligence and mistreatment of a teenage domestic worker, Mercy Hajara Muhammad.
In a related operation, the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad arrested nine suspects connected with illegal firearms and ammunition trafficking across Ebonyi, Enugu, Kogi, Niger states and the Federal Capital Territory. Those arrested include Friday Nnanna Ujor, Chika Sampson Nwozaku, Nnanna Ujor Chinasa, Nnanna Fountain, Nnanna Abundant Ifechukwu and three serving NSCDC officers allegedly linked to the syndicate.
The Corps also intensified efforts to protect critical national assets by arresting six suspected vandals caught with a trailer load of vandalised railway sleepers at Sabon Wuse on July 25, 2026. The railway materials were concealed in a blue DAF trailer bearing registration number ZAR 618 XT.
In another operation, operatives arrested Raphael Danjuma and Isaac Zegbe from Toto and Bassa Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State for allegedly vandalising electrical installations and cables at Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory.
The NSCDC stressed that the misconduct of the affected personnel does not represent the values and professionalism of the overwhelming majority of its officers nationwide.
The Corps reaffirmed its commitment to discipline, accountability and the protection of critical national assets, while noting that all suspects and affected personnel remain entitled to their constitutional right to fair hearing as administrative and legal processes continue.
It also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing credible intelligence to support efforts aimed at safeguarding national security.
