Headquarters Sector 3 Operation HADIN KAI/Multinational Joint Task Force (OPHK/MNJTF) has donated educational materials to selected schools in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State as part of efforts to strengthen civil-military cooperation and support community development.

The donation was made on Saturday, August 8, 2026, under the Nigerian Army’s Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) programme, which seeks to complement military operations with initiatives that address the needs of host communities.

Presenting the materials, the Sector Commander, Brigadier General Shehu Ahmed, represented by the Commander Sector 3 Garrison, Brigadier General Ikechukwu Ogundele, reaffirmed the military’s commitment to supporting initiatives that improve the wellbeing of communities within its area of responsibility.

Brigadier General Ogundele said education remains critical to sustainable development and community resilience, adding that the military would continue to support people-oriented initiatives that promote peace and stability.

He noted that the intervention was also aimed at deepening trust, understanding and cooperation between the military and civilian population, stressing that such non-kinetic efforts complement ongoing kinetic operations in the North-East.

Receiving the materials on behalf of the Monguno Local Government Authority, Mr Babagana Modu Kur expressed appreciation to Headquarters Sector 3 OPHK/MNJTF for the gesture.

Kur commended the military for supporting education in the community and assured that the materials would be equitably distributed among the benefiting schools for maximum impact.

He also acknowledged the Nigerian military’s efforts towards restoring peace and normalcy in Borno State.

The donation, according to the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, forms part of the ongoing CIMIC activities of Sector 3 OPHK/MNJTF aimed at addressing identified community needs and strengthening engagement with host communities.
