How Operation FANSAN YAMMA Troops Foiled Ransom Exchange, Rescueed Kidnapped Woman in Kebbi

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled a planned ransom exchange and rescued a kidnapped woman after overwhelming terrorists during a decisive operation in Kebbi State.

A military source told SpyeTV news that the rescue operation took place on 26 August 2026, following credible intelligence on plans by terrorists to collect ransom for a woman abducted from her farm last month.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence, troops conducting counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations mobilised to intercept the planned transaction.

As the troops closed in on the criminals, the terrorists attempted to engage them. However, they were quickly overwhelmed by the superior firepower of the advancing troops.

The intense encounter forced the criminals to retreat in disarray, abandoning their hostage in the process.

Troops subsequently secured the kidnapped woman, who was found unharmed, and safely evacuated her from the area. She has since been reunited with her family in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Following the successful rescue, troops conducted a thorough exploitation of the terrorists’ withdrawal route, further securing the area against possible threats before returning safely to base.

In a separate effort to sustain peace and security across the region, troops also carried out routine clearance and dominance patrols within Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The patrols were completed successfully without incident, reinforcing the troops’ continued resolve to deny terrorists and other criminal elements freedom of action across their areas of operation.

The successful operation underscores the determination of Operation FANSAN YAMMA troops to pursue terrorists, disrupt their criminal activities and ensure the safety of vulnerable citizens across the North-West.
