The Commander, 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Ohafia, Abia State, Brigadier General AM Dikko, has charged personnel to remain physically fit, disciplined and mentally alert to enhance their effectiveness in military operations.
The Commander gave the charge on Friday, August 28, 2026, while flagging off the 2026 Bi-Annual Route March organised by the Brigade as part of efforts to improve troops’ physical fitness, combat readiness, mental alertness and unit cohesion.
According to the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 14 Brigade, Captain Mazinho Attah, the route march was part of the Nigerian Army’s routine training activities designed to keep personnel physically and mentally prepared for the effective discharge of their operational responsibilities.
Dikko urged participants to maintain discipline and professionalism throughout the exercise, stressing the need for personnel to uphold the highest standards of military bearing.
He also encouraged the troops to make productive use of their free time by engaging in regular physical exercise, noting that physical fitness was essential to maintaining the strength, alertness and readiness required for effective military service.
The Brigade Commander further advised personnel to sustain the habit of regular exercise while remaining disciplined and committed to their responsibilities both on and off duty.
The successful completion of the route march, the statement said, reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to maintaining a physically fit, disciplined and operationally ready force.
It also provided an avenue for strengthening teamwork, cohesion and unity among personnel of the Brigade.
