Lieutenant Princess Oluchukwu (P.O.) Owowoh has made history as the first Nigerian female officer to graduate from the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), United Kingdom, marking a significant milestone for the Nigerian Armed Forces and the advancement of women in military leadership.
A First Class graduate of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Lieutenant Owowoh distinguished herself throughout her cadet training with exceptional academic performance, discipline, and leadership qualities. During her time at the NDA, she became the first female cadet to be appointed Company Senior Under Officer Charlie (CSUO C), one of the highest leadership positions available to cadets at the Academy.
Her successful completion of the demanding Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in April 2024 further cemented her place in Nigeria’s military history. Widely regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious military training institutions, Sandhurst is renowned for producing officers of exceptional leadership, character, and professionalism.
Following her graduation, Lieutenant Owowoh was promoted to the substantive rank of Lieutenant in recognition of her dedication, competence, and exemplary service.
