The fight against terrorism in Nigeria’s North-East received a significant boost as the Commander of the United States Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAFRICA), Major General Claude Tudor, visited the Headquarters of Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, in Maiduguri.
The high-level engagement underscored the growing defence cooperation between Nigeria and the United States, with SOCAFRICA describing its integration into Operation HADIN KAI as a model for effective military partnership. Major General Tudor praised the operational synergy, mutual trust, and shared commitment that continue to strengthen counter-insurgency efforts and contribute to lasting peace in the region.
Receiving the delegation, the Theatre Commander, Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, commended the United States Government and SOCAFRICA for their sustained support, noting that the collaboration has significantly enhanced both kinetic and non-kinetic operations.
He also stressed the importance of advanced technological support in addressing evolving security threats.
The visit concluded with both countries reaffirming their commitment to expanding military cooperation, strengthening operational capacity, disrupting terrorist networks, and promoting regional stability—highlighting the enduring strategic partnership between Nigeria and the United States in the fight against terrorism.
