The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Friday, June 5, 2026, paid a working visit to the headquarters of Nigeria Police Radio 99.1FM in Jabi, Abuja, as part of efforts to strengthen the Nigeria Police Force’s strategic communication and public engagement initiatives.
During the visit, the IGP toured the station’s facilities and received comprehensive briefings on its operations, programming, and contributions to public enlightenment, crime prevention, and community policing.
Disu highlighted the vital role of the media in building trust and confidence between the police and the public, stressing that effective communication remains a key component of modern policing. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to utilizing credible communication platforms to enhance public safety awareness, promote transparency, and improve citizen engagement.
The Inspector-General noted that timely and accurate dissemination of information is essential in fostering public cooperation and supporting ongoing efforts to combat crime and insecurity across the country.
