The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has reinforced the command’s commitment to professional policing and respect for human rights during a supervisory and visibility policing tour of strategic locations along the Ughelli–Patani Expressway.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the tour, conducted on June 5, 2026, covered critical security points including Edjekota Junction, Evwreni Junction, Ohoro Junction and other stop-and-search locations along the busy expressway.

During the visit, the police commissioner assessed security deployments and addressed officers on duty, commending them for their efforts in maintaining security across the area.

He, however, warned that the command would not tolerate any form of misconduct or behaviour capable of attracting complaints from members of the public.

Oyeniyi directed officers to maintain a professional appearance by dressing properly and conducting themselves in a manner that reflects the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

He also urged personnel to remain vigilant and professional while carrying out their duties, stressing the need to engage members of the public with courtesy, respect and civility.

The commissioner cautioned against harassment, abuse and other forms of unprofessional conduct, emphasizing that policing must be carried out with a human face and in strict compliance with human rights standards.

The CP further reassured residents of the state that the command remains committed to protecting lives and property, while calling on members of the public to support security efforts by providing credible and timely information to the police.
