Troops of Sector 2 Operation HADIN KAI have arrested two additional suspects in Damaturu, Yobe State, over their alleged involvement in the supply of ammunition to terrorists operating in Nigeria’s North-East region.
Security sources disclosed that the suspects were apprehended at about 12:05 p.m. on May 11, 2026, following actionable intelligence derived from communication intercepts linked to an earlier arrest of a repentant member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
According to the sources, the operation was carried out in Damaturu town, the headquarters of Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State, as part of ongoing intelligence-led counterterrorism efforts by troops under Operation HADIN KAI.
Preliminary investigations reportedly revealed that one of the suspects had been tasked with collecting ammunition from the second suspect for onward delivery to a terrorist commander believed to be operating within the insurgency corridor in the North-East.
Military sources further stated that both suspects are currently in custody and assisting investigators with useful information.
The sources added that efforts are ongoing to track down the alleged terrorist commander linked to the operation and to recover the ammunition intended for delivery.
The latest arrests are part of sustained counterterrorism operations targeted at dismantling logistics and supply chains supporting terrorist activities across the North-East theatre.
Operation HADIN KAI troops have in recent months intensified intelligence-driven raids, surveillance operations, and coordinated offensives aimed at disrupting the movement of arms, ammunition, fuel, and other supplies to insurgent groups operating in the region.
