The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has appointed the Voice of Nigeria as the official International and Diaspora Radio Broadcaster for the forthcoming World Public Relations Forum (WPRF).

Chairman of the WPRF National Planning Committee, Dr. Suleiman Haruna, disclosed this during the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between both institutions at the headquarters of the Voice of Nigeria in Abuja.

Dr. Haruna described the partnership as strategic to the success of the global event, scheduled to hold from November 15 to 21, 2026, noting that the forum would boost Nigeria’s reputation capital and reinforce its standing in global conversations on responsible communication.

According to him, the reforms currently being implemented by the Voice of Nigeria in the international media space position the organisation as a credible partner capable of delivering quality broadcast coverage and programmes targeted at global audiences and Nigerians in the diaspora.

Responding, Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria, Jibrin Baba Ndace, said the hosting of the World Public Relations Forum was beyond an NIPR project, describing it as a national assignment for all Nigerians.

He said the event presents an opportunity for Nigeria and Africa to project their stories positively to the international community.

“The hosting of WPRF is a significant milestone for Nigeria and indeed the entire African continent. It is an opportunity for us to tell our story. Many people would have been hearing about Nigeria, but coming to this country will give them an enhanced understanding,” he said.

Ndace assured that the Voice of Nigeria would fully implement the agreement and provide extensive publicity for the forum through its broadcasts in nine major languages.

Also present at the signing ceremony were the Registrar of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Uzoma Onyegbadue; Vice Chairman of the WPRF National Planning Committee, Maryam Sanusi; Assistant Secretary of the committee, Okeagu Kelechi; and Duke Imandu of the NIPR National Secretariat.
