The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through the 115 Special Operations Group, Port Harcourt, in collaboration with the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), commemorated the 2026 Children’s Day celebration with a special event aimed at inspiring and empowering young Nigerians.
The event, held on May 27, 2026, was themed “Inspiring Dreams, Building Futures” and brought together children, parents, community leaders, and security personnel in an atmosphere of unity, learning, and hope.
Organisers said the initiative reflects the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to community engagement, youth development, and fostering stronger relationships between security agencies and local communities.
The colourful celebration featured cultural performances, quiz competitions, talent showcases, games, motivational talks, and interactive sessions designed to encourage children to embrace education, discipline, patriotism, and hard work.
Speaking at the event, representatives of the PCRC and officials of the 115 Special Operations Group stressed the importance of investing in children as a foundation for building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous society.
They also expressed solidarity with children affected by insecurity across the country and reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies to protecting lives and creating safe environments where every child can learn and thrive without fear.
A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of gifts, educational materials, and recognition awards to participating children and outstanding pupils in recognition of their academic and extracurricular achievements.
Parents and guardians commended the initiative, describing it as a laudable platform that not only celebrated children but also strengthened civil-security relations and enhanced cooperation among stakeholders dedicated to securing a brighter future for Nigerian children.
The event further underscored the shared commitment of the Nigerian Air Force and the PCRC to nurturing the next generation of leaders while promoting peace, unity, and national development.
