The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Lagos, AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom, has reaffirmed the importance of inter-agency collaboration in addressing Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
Akpanudom stated this while attending a workshop organised by the Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC) themed, “Repositioning the NAWC for Enhanced Operational Efficiency in Curbing Contemporary Security Threats.”
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mayegun Aminat, the workshop was held at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration (NASFA) Auditorium in Apapa, Lagos, and brought together senior military officers and key security stakeholders.
The engagement focused on strategies aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening institutional capacity to combat emerging security threats across the country.
During the event, the Commander of the Nigerian Army Women Command, Brigadier General MS Adamu, presented a commemorative plaque to the AIG in recognition of the Nigeria Police Force’s sustained collaboration and support towards national security and inter-agency cooperation.
Speaking at the workshop, Akpanudom commended the Nigerian Army Women Command for organising the initiative, describing synergy among security agencies as vital to effectively tackling contemporary security concerns.
He noted that strengthening cooperation and operational partnerships among security institutions remained essential to maintaining peace, protecting lives and property, and enhancing national stability.
The event also highlighted the continued commitment of the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army to collaborative security efforts in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, towards improved national security and public safety.
The FCID Annex, Lagos, under the leadership of AIG Akpanudom, reiterated its commitment to sustaining partnerships with relevant stakeholders and security agencies to support national security and economic development.
