Troops operating in collaboration with the police and other security agencies have recovered two bodies following an attack by unknown gunmen in Igbo Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Security sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 2:25 a.m. on April 6, 2026, when troops of Sector 1, Operation UDO KA, responded to a distress call over reported gunfire in Umufu Village.
On arrival at the scene, the joint security team discovered two persons who had been killed by the attackers. A motorcycle was also recovered at the location.
The bodies were subsequently evacuated to a nearby mortuary, while security agencies launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify those responsible.
Security presence has since been intensified in the area to prevent further incidents and reassure residents.
