Operation Hadin Kai Troops Intercept Terrorists In Yobe, Arrest Informants And Foreign National

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded another breakthrough in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign in the North East, intercepting a vehicle conveying suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Yobe State and arresting several informants, collaborators, and a foreign national under suspicious circumstances.

The development is part of sustained operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, disrupting movement corridors, and denying insurgents safe passage across the theatre of operation.

According to military sources, troops of Operation HADIN KAI intercepted a suspicious vehicle conveying terrorist elements in Yobe State during a routine operation.

Preliminary checks revealed that two of the occupants had gunshot wounds, believed to have been sustained during earlier encounters with troops in previous engagements.

The suspects, identified as Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, were taken into custody alongside recovered communication devices, which are expected to aid ongoing investigations and intelligence exploitation.

In related operations across the theatre, troops also arrested BHT/ISWAP informants and collaborators who were allegedly attempting to cross into neighbouring areas, in what security sources described as part of efforts to evade military pressure and maintain links within the insurgent network.

Additionally, troops apprehended a foreign national at a military checkpoint under suspicious circumstances.

Military authorities said the suspect is currently being profiled, while investigations are ongoing to determine possible links to terrorist activities or cross-border support networks.

The latest arrests underscore the sustained operational pressure being mounted by Operation HADIN KAI against insurgent elements and their support structures across the North East.

The interception of wounded suspects, alongside the arrest of informants and collaborators, highlights the increasing difficulty faced by terrorists in moving freely or receiving support within the region.

The Military High Command has continued to commend troops for their resilience, vigilance, and professionalism, while urging them to maintain the tempo of offensive and intelligence-driven operations in the overall security and economic interest of the North East.
