The Nigerian Defence Academy has officially extended the application deadline for admission into its 78 Regular Course to May 15, 2026, providing prospective candidates with additional time to complete their registration.
The extension is aimed at accommodating applicants who may have encountered challenges during the initial application window, as well as ensuring that all qualified candidates have a fair opportunity to apply.
Admission Requirements
Candidates seeking admission into the NDA must meet the following criteria:
Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth
Be medically, physically, and psychologically fit
Possess a minimum of five credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in WAEC, NECO, or equivalent examinations (not more than two sittings)
Be between the ages of 17 and 21 years at the time of entry
Must have registered for and participated in the 2026 UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board
Meet the minimum UTME score requirement as determined by the NDA
In addition, shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in the NDA screening test and subsequent selection processes.

The NDA, located in Kaduna, remains one of Nigeria’s premier military institutions, responsible for training officer cadets for the Armed Forces.
