The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, on Tuesday received the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Folashade Ogunsola, alongside members of her management team on a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters.
The visit focused on strengthening collaboration between the Lagos State Police Command and the university authorities to enhance campus security and sustain peace within the institution.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, discussions between both parties highlighted the need for improved intelligence sharing, proactive policing, and strategic engagement to address emerging security concerns within the university environment.
Fatai reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors, noting that a secure academic environment is essential for effective learning and development.
On her part, Ogunsola appreciated the support of the police and emphasised the importance of continued partnership in maintaining law and order within the university community.
Both parties agreed to deepen cooperation through sustained engagement and joint initiatives aimed at preventing crime and promoting safety across the campus.
