IGP Disu Deploys DIG Operations To Kaduna After Ariko Attack, Seven Victims Rescued

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has deployed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Operations), DIG Shehu Umar Nadada, to Kaduna State following the deadly bandit attack on Ariko Village near Gurara Dam.

The attack, which occurred on April 5, 2026, targeted ECWA and Catholic churches in the community, leaving five people dead and about 14 others abducted.

In response, the police, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and DSS, launched an operation that led to the rescue of seven kidnapped victims.

The rescued victims were taken to Katari Hospital for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition, while efforts continue to free the remaining abductees and track down the attackers.
